I'm fairly new to forums, so please excuse me if this is a stupid question.

When looking at the list of new posts (and other places), I keep finding myself wishing that I could see the date that the thread was created, not just the date of the last post. Is there any way to do this, or does this functionality not exist?

Thanks!

To see the date the thread was created you need to look at the date of the first post (to the left of the Email, PM & Find buttons at the bottom of the post).

I read it to mean seeing the creation date while looking at recent posts. Or while looking at the list of threads in a particular forum. I don't know of anyway to get it to show but it'd be nice to have.

You mean you'd like for the date that the thread was first posted to show up on the main index, right? I've always wished that was there too. Maybe Josh (our fearless leader) can do that for us.

I would like that too. Sometimes I want to know how old the post is without having to open the first one. Good idea Ryan.

Great! We all agree!

Now... can we make it happen? Anyone have any thoughts?

I've alerted Josh to this thread. Now we just have to wait and see what he says.

It's a matter of if there is a plug-in on the MyBB software, that he can use for the forum or not. If not, then he'd have to get a developer to create one.

I'll look into this. I might be able to simply add a variable to the right template BUT the question is WHERE in that table would this info fit?

Could it go in the second column on the left and remove the use of the smiley faces? Hardly anyone uses that column for those icons.

How about removing the last post date, and replace it with a creation date

Doesn't the last post date relate to "bumping" the thread to the top of the list. I think we would want both dates, the original post and the last post.

Right under the title next to the originators username
