maybe I should name it Karen?Ed, this is a joy to read! Looking forward to each new day of Hope!
That's great - you are doing a brilliant job with him,EdToday I'm having issues with my left eye and the usual back issues. So I'm taking if easy and doing everything with one eye.
Out of laziness I dropped 3 hibiscus flower pedals and some Kale into the small aquarium housing the sickly tortoise.
Before I had time to come back and look....two of the pedals had vanished.
Now all of them and the Kale has disappeared.
I'm not too blind to see that he is eating.
Mostly luck with the Redfoot. That's great - you are doing a brilliant job with him,Ed
I hope your eye and back are better soon.
Thank youHi, new member here! I can’t wait to see this lil redfoot progress and grow!! I have a redfoot of my own, his name is Carl and he’s 10 years old . I wish you all the best with Hope.

I see we joined within a week of each other - where has that time gone?
How are you feeling today?
Sounds like your rescue is coming along.Today I'm having issues with my left eye and the usual back issues. So I'm taking if easy and doing everything with one eye.

That would have to be SOME aquarium!Sounds like your rescue is coming along.
Maybe you should try recovering in a aquarium
Seriously I hope you feel better.
This is great news, Ed! I think he is a fighter, and under your care he will thrive.Update
The vision has been confirmed.
He DOES have some vision.
Today as I was feeding the zoo, I dropped a very green section of Romaine into the little guys enclosure.(it sits on the floor in that particular room)....And I missed the enclosure. The Romaine fell in front of it. Not in it.
As I bent down to pick it up, lots of cussing and cracking noises included, (from me)he raced towards the said lettuce and slammed into the glass.
HE CAN SURELY SEE!
I placed it in front of him and he began chomping like I've never seen.
I then removed a wilted Hibiscus flower from yesterday and noticed that it was actually about half eaten. I had used a perfect flower so that I could examine it for chomp marks.
Well, that's pretty much chomped!
At this point, I think he is improving AHEAD of schedule.
Have had her for over 4 years now, just got her a BRANDNEW HOME, had to make some changes like she don’t fit threw the whole ware her book is, sally is currently outback in the yard, wich is “SALLY PROOFED” “ AKA” TOURT PROOF YARD” being I live inPhiladelphiaSomeone suggested the name Hope.
I agree with that. Lyn and other members have pulled me back on more than one occasion. I am grateful for Opo and the members here. I would be on a different path. If not for the tortoise community.Mostly luck with the Redfoot.
And being UNLUCKY with my back and friggin eye.
Thanks Lyn.
