I adopted my sulcata tortoise a couple weeks ago. His previous family was unable to keep him any longer. Oogway is doing great, eating, pooping everything fine. But his shell has old damage that I'd like to discuss. I was told that he has old thermal burns. And that part of his history is unknown. But he appears to be missing a good bit of keratin on his shell and I wanted to know if anyone had any tips or tricks to help out my buddy.

They told me he's between 8-10 years old but we're not 100% sure and he weighs about 75lbs

Actually, that's all new keratin. The damaged, burned part has already flaked off showing the new growth. It will never look like the original shell, but it is just as sturdy and healthy.

Ok, thank you for the reply . I'm not worried about the look . As long as he's healthy and not uncomfortable
