Went to the local nature center, and i watched one of the workers take a bucket to the back and I asked what was in it. She showed me this severly dehydrated male in the bucket. I asked her what they were going to do and they said just let it back into the wild. Well with winter coming along, and this guy in this bad of shape, I took it upon myself to take him in and rehabilitate him. He is already looking so much better. His eyes were completely sunken in when i got him, you can tell from the pics from an overview just how narrow his head is. I've got him gaining significant weight already. Fed him, hibiscus flowers, spring mix, dandelions, slugs, earthworms, and one pinky mouse dusted in d3 calcium. He is already showing vast improvements and loves that he has the 6x8 greenhouse all to himself. I gave him his first antiparisitc treatment and plan to keep repeating the process until i see him retain his weight longer. Possibility of overwintering in my care and an early release back into the wild this coming spring if all goes well.
