My family and I were at our Aunt and Uncle's this weekend down at the shore (NJ). Each year at this time the Diamondbacks start to hatch and the kids and I have fun looking around the yard for them. The females come up on the beach (boat slip) in late May and make their nests. Then every Labor Day weekend we get to collect them. We put them in a container so that they can be released at night. Otherwise the seagulls have a hayday. The patterns on their shells are amazing. It is a nice treat every year. Last year they found 150. So far between Friday and Saturday, we found 20. I am sure there will be lots more.
