I might be way off here but the pics you posted look to me more like a leopard tortoise than the parrot beak, ( although they do look very similar..) they are both species native to South Africa yes?

Looks too small for a Leopard? And Leopards can't hibernate

I had a look at the Leopard just now, they do look very similar but have a look at Saartjies mouth, it looks like a parrots beak, where the Leopard doesn't have it.

Could you post pictures of the underside of your tort and the head straight from the front so we can compare?

The shell pattern does look more like a leopard. The point is that it could be a tort's beak can overgrow and look parrot like. It would be a different shape to the species you think you have.

I agree, looks more like a leopard with overgrown beak than a homopus parrot beak

I know nothing about this species but it does look like a parrot beak Homopus areolatus to my fading and untrained eye.

may help.
It's between 35 and 44 degrees here, most of the time at the moment, so i will often soak my Greek tortoise 3 times a day.
I also shower her or hose her down regularly which terrified her to begin, but now she loves it.
But i have zero knowledge of this species of padloper.

Padlopers hibernate June to September, so this fits this being a Homopus species if it's just coming out of hibernation.

@Karlien who told you it is Homopous? Where did you get this tort? It is a Leopard in an awful condition, sorry to say that. Looks like nothing was done correctly for this poor guy. Check the care sheets on this forum and improve the condidtions that you keep this guy at.

Ah she's so cute, I love her so much!! Here are a few pics I took just now, you can see she was sleeping :)

The blue is because of medicine when she was bitten by a dog almost a year ago.

I agree. It looks like a Leopard in urgent need of a beak trim. How long have you had this tort?

Homopus grow to 10cm in length max as far as I can see on the net. A leopard gets MUCH bigger and shouldn't be hibernated.

I didn't hibernate her. She hibernated on her own.
I got her last year April and her previous owners had her for 6 years.

It is a Homopus areolatus, NOT a leopard tortoise. That being said, it does need a beak trim.

Everything you've said about her hibernating herself suggests she must be. Especially as you have had her for so long :)

The beak is overgrown I think and should be trimmed.

Other than that, the soaking should help your tort to come round quickly and start eating :)
