From last I checked, ambient day temps are 80 and under the lamp is 85, at night temps drop to around 70

Would u say his shell is healthy? Because I’ve looked at other tort photos on the forum and they all look so prestine.

Try and get the reading directly under the lamp to 95f, the rest of your temperatures are spot on🙂

Yes don’t worry he does look fine, looks very typical of a wild caught Russian, some come a bit more dinked up than others, I wouldn’t worry🐢💚

Tank has been very active now but I was wondering if it’s normal for him to climb the sides of his enclosure. I have rocks for him to climb on and he uses them. I just don’t know why he is doing this now

Has anything been changed in the time you’ve noticed him do it? What sized set up is he in?🐢💚

My russian did this same this very morning as soon has he saw me, but he usually stops when he realises he won't get better food or lifted out that way. So conditioning is one possibility, though sudden behaviour changes might of course be caused by something else too.

All I did was raise temps but he JUST started doing this and now he won’t stop. Could it be that I took him out of the enclosure once and now he wants to explore?
My guess...he can see the outside world and wants to be a part of it! Cover up that glass and he'll likely stop. ;)

That could be it, some sort of conditioning where he has connected scratching the walls with a price of getting outside. I am not sure whether the temperature increase would cause this.
