here she is walking!

is it alright/looks good+healthy? anyone can answer but i'm going to @Littleredfootbigredheart because i think you'd want to see this ❤️ 😊

She’s still a shuffler but her edema on the front legs looks like it’s improving! Russians do walk lower to the ground in general compared with our red foot, though she should still ideally be able to lift herself up a bit more, all in all though she’s improved in my opinion! Good job🐢💚

the gritty urates are an issue but it was mentioned that they aren't soluble, so these could be old urates. i will continue her soaks. she has been pooping more which is good.

i honestly think her appetite could be simplified to her pickiness? does anyone have tips?

Yes, just keep the same routine. Tortoises need time and patience.

With her being picky - the same. Time and patience. I believe some links about introducing new foods were posted above. I would cut off pellets and pumpkins/squashes etc. for a while if you feed them. It would be a good idea to track her weight.

hello! i alr cut off on those a while back. however, she really only wants to eat romaine lettuce instead of the salad mix i get her (pic below). i'm working on introducing plantain weeds and stuff from testudo seed mix, but she's so picky.

how often should i track her weight?

I would feed romaine on other days (e.g. two days a week) than mix then. Supplemented with a bit of calcium and some fiber amendments

I do weekly weightings, once a week, at approximately same time after feeding and before soaking (this helps to get more consistent results). Then I look at monthly average weight and overall trend.

no urates. her poops seem a bit strange today. they have random long-ish fibers . is that okay?

i'm going to... chop up her food really finely. that way she can't tell the difference and pick out all the lettuce 😭 and she only likes romaine lettuce for some reason
