I got Robin a few days ago. Robin is 2 years old but I was just wondering if anyone could help with the subspecies? ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1408196445.022086.jpgImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1408196455.489923.jpgImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1408196467.240775.jpg

Nice animal. Definitely not a western.

The missing black on the humeral scute is an immediate sign. The middle seam between the pectoral scutes is also longer than the seam between the femoral scutes. (Scute names see here, for example.)
Chris has a detailed post about the differences, pinned to the top of this forum.

I really, really suck at IDing. However, I do agree with @THBfriend that this is not a Hermanni Hermanni. Could it be a hercegovinensis?

It's not a truly reliable trait. Any Hermann's can have a V shape, U shape or a zig zag as a humeral scute suture. Most Westerns exhibit a U shape but this can and does vary. When it comes to Easterns, it's all over the place unless you're talking a specific locality but even then it is not 100%.
