stones

They may be looking for minerals and/or file their beaks down. Another member recommended limestone. If you feed them on a flat piece of limestone, it'll keep their beaks filed and provide them with some calcium. You can buy a mineral block for reptiles.

RE: stones

I once heard that they also do that they may do that if they have parasites. I do not know if this is true, but a fecal exam often doesn't cost much and would be worth a thought. :/

Hi Pamela:

I use a product called Miner-All manufactured under the Sticky Tongue Farms label. Use it a couple times a week, just a light sprinkling over the food.

Sometimes its a mineral deficiency. Sometimes they like to keep their beak filed down, and sometimes they just like to eat rocks, or pebbles. I use miner-all...sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't...

I would:
1. Soak more often to help the stones pass.
2. Use MinerAll two or three times a week to help stop or reduce the stone eating.
3. Get the fecal exam to make sure this is not all, or part, of the problem.

Hello and welcome to the forum. :)
