Can American Orchard Tree leaves be fed to tortoises?

Not sure of it’s Latin name. It’s the tree that produces those spike balls.

After looking closely to the two trees. It seems like there are two varieties.

Here is the first one:


This is the second one: (it has “fuzzy” leaves)

Looks like the seeds are edible though.

Interesting, although that article is referring to the physical dangers of the spike balls it produces.

Which is liquidambar? The first one right? What is the second?

Definitely the first one is liquid ambar ... i have 7 of these guys. Second one might by Sycamore, very similar to liquidambar but not 100% sure.

I haven't, the tortoise table says feed sparingly but limited info. I guess you can try with the early spring leaves as they are pretty soft. Sycamore it says do not feed at all.
