You caught her at a great time and from a nice view. How many eggs has she laid this year?

My friend was riding his quad runner through his hay field and seen a box turtle sitting in a hole. He said he thought of me and called me.I told him to mark the spot with sticks and tape and leave it alone.how long do they take to hatch so my friend will know when it's safe to take down the markers. I'm not even sure it was laying eggs I wasn't there but he said she was their for about an hour then left. He also said that when he went by to check on her (on foot he put the quad up so not to scare her) that she would freeze like a statue and watch his every move.

90 day average for natural incubation, but it could be 120 or 60 days, its great to see wild boxies in nature especially laying the next generation :)
