Has she been around a male? I read something earlier about how sometimes this will happen if she knows they are not fertile.

I have 2 males. Breeding did occur, often, about a month ago. But I have no clue what female laid the eggs, I'm assuming it was the one who was digging often. But I could be wrong. Ill incubate and candle them in a month to see if they are viable. Just never seen a tortoise lay eggs on surface. Seems kind of lazy.

What kind of tortoise is it? She could still have more inside

Often if a female russian cant find a nesting site shes happy with she will just deposit them on the surface. They are rarely if ever fertile. She has just rid herself of them, which is far preferable to retaining them and getting egg bound. My girls are very very picky and will often dig several test holes before finding one they like.
