Well the Russian torts starting laying eggs last night. Two females decided to nest in the same spot, which never happens.
When I get back from walking the dogs this morning, I start digging for eggs. I thought my bigger girl LeLe laid the clutch, but I only found two eggs. Weird because she lays four every time. So I take the two eggs in the house.
I come back to feed and see an egg on the surface next to LeLe. I was confused. When I lift the egg I see a divot in the ground. Stuck my finger in and crack. Then I find more eggs. How'd she lay them in 15 minutes??? Turned out it was my other female coco who laid the two.
Then I was looking for my largest female because she hasn't been active the past few days. Her chin was swollen, and I thought it was mouth rot. I lift the log. She was digging a hole, but I interrupted her. Turns out she was getting ready to lay
. Hopefully she gets to it today.
