Looks like no Elongata hatchling I ever seen.
You share my same temptation!I'd like to follow his/her progress too.
The shell coloration is really interesting, but I love the all black legs and light head too. I love this species and I'm really fighting the temptation to jump in…
Please post updates for us?
@MichaelaW Have you seen this one? Check it out!
Yes it would, are you keeping this hatchling? Then you can post pictures from time to time. That would be nice.
The only time I saw a dark Elongata was one from Italy. He was probably 2 years old or so. Very dark colorings, even his head. So different then my Turt. I was thinking of getting him, but I didn't.
How many hatchlings do you have this season?
We've been talking about this sort of thing in a couple of other threads. Might be a helpful tid bit in there somewhere for you, or you might have a puzzle piece to give to us.This hatchling is my fourth this season. Sadly, I lost 8 eggs with fully formed torts inside. I have no idea what happened; there was no apparent cause -- obviously very disappointing.
Thanks for the connection, Tom. I was wondering if there was already discussions about this. We've been talking about this sort of thing in a couple of other threads. Might be a helpful tid bit in there somewhere for you, or you might have a puzzle piece to give to us.

Yes, I'll keep the pictures coming -- remind me ! Here is a picture of its siblings from the same clutch.
Just a little reminder...
Oh no how devastating I’m so sorry.Sadly, I lost this little beauty to a brutal ant attack — talk about heart breaking!!!
