Sorry I am not seeing your picture too well, so I don't know what you have for substrate or the size of your tortoise, but what I do see that worries me is the lamp. Looks first off like it is close enough to the plastic that it might melt it. It looks like you may be using it with only the clamp it comes with to hold it on... major warning... those clamps fail quite often causing the hot fixture to fall into the enclosure causing burned tortoises and even fires.Last thing with the light is by being on it's side, your not getting the real use of the light be it a UVB light or one for heat. You want the light pointing straight down.
Love the name!![]()
Thank youHang it from above the enclosure. Either on an arm that they make for that purpose or from the ceiling.
This may sound stupid but , can I stick the wire through something that holds and let tu hang down from there to the enclosure ?? Do I need to do this for the UVB light as well??Thank you
I am not sure I understand the question. It should not be hung by the cord. A chain works best. Hang the UVB too. This may sound stupid but , can I stick the wire through something that holds and let tu hang down from there to the enclosure ?? Do I need to do this for the UVB light as well??

Oh Côme on!!!! I know that!!! I just didn't have itin the picture!!! I have subtrates ready to go!!!!Now I'M confused! You can't really 'hang' UVBs unless they are coil bulbs... andThat tub needs something for the tort to burrow into! Coco coir works great, plus you can get it cheap ta garden centers
Substrate will also be necessary to help humidity, I can imagine it's going to be hard to keep up in there! What type of tort is it... and how old, because, on average, any adult tort needs more space than that for the long run.
Can't wait to see pictures...![]()

A screen tub, hmmmmm okay!! Thnks!! They can just sit on the screen tubs and it will not burn????If the UVB tube is long enough it can just rest across the top of the tub. I use tubs for little ones and that's what I do. Then I get a screen top big enough to rest across the tub and put the heat bulb and fixture on that.
I mean that I buy a screen top made for terrariums. One that is long enough to fit across the tub and I use that to rest the heat lamp on.A screen tub, hmmmmm okay!! Thnks!! They can just sit on the screen tubs and it will not burn????
