Sorry I am not seeing your picture too well, so I don't know what you have for substrate or the size of your tortoise, but what I do see that worries me is the lamp. Looks first off like it is close enough to the plastic that it might melt it. It looks like you may be using it with only the clamp it comes with to hold it on... major warning... those clamps fail quite often causing the hot fixture to fall into the enclosure causing burned tortoises and even fires. :( Last thing with the light is by being on it's side, your not getting the real use of the light be it a UVB light or one for heat. You want the light pointing straight down.

Love the name! :)

I am not sure I understand the question. It should not be hung by the cord. A chain works best. Hang the UVB too.

I use the ZooMed LARGE LIGHT STAND to hang my light fixtures. I use the ZooMed LARGE dome light fixture for my PowerSun MVB bulb and the MINI dome light fixture for my other light fixture. The dome fixtures come with a metal hanger to hang it from the light stand. The other type of light fixtures can be hung by putting a piece of wire through the vent holes and hang it from the light stand.

I just read your postings over again and I see that you have the mini dome light fixture which comes with a wire hanger and not a clamp. Check out the light stand that I am talking about, but make sure it is the large one. The light stand is adjustable so you can lower or raise the stand to help get the temperature you want. Amazon.com or PetMountain.com has the best price for the light stand. Check out both places to get the best price. Amazon.com has free shipping it you order $35.00 worth of merchandise and PetMountain.com has free shipping all the time if you buy $75.00 and sometimes at $49.00 of merchandise. I bought one from Amazon.com around 2 months ago and at that time they had the best price.

Now I'M confused! You can't really 'hang' UVBs unless they are coil bulbs... and  That tub needs something for the tort to burrow into! Coco coir works great, plus you can get it cheap ta garden centers :D Substrate will also be necessary to help humidity, I can imagine it's going to be hard to keep up in there! What type of tort is it... and how old, because, on average, any adult tort needs more space than that for the long run.
Can't wait to see pictures... :D

If the UVB tube is long enough it can just rest across the top of the tub. I use tubs for little ones and that's what I do. Then I get a screen top big enough to rest across the tub and put the heat bulb and fixture on that.

If you buy the housing for shop lights you can hang the tube lights. A screen will not keep the humidity in.

I mean that I buy a screen top made for terrariums. One that is long enough to fit across the tub and I use that to rest the heat lamp on.

Sorry ! I didn't see any and was thinking... not, not if it's metal, all my heat lamps sit on (special rubberized lids) and they've never burned them... be careful th0ugh, if you slide it off to the side, they can burn the plastic edges of most tubs and tanks...
