LOL!

Red is awesome, btw! What is the males name? Have these two produced eggs together before? Should I know the answer to that question already? It's late and my mind is on the fritz! :p

That is "Dude" [ I guess ].. I call her Red because she's red and the others aren't. I have to confess I don't see them as "named" personalities.

I really like his plastron.. barely 7" in this pic the day I brought him home.. now over 9"..

He has always thought he is a stud since I've had him.. and his voice is changing. He used to have a nasal squeak when he was trying to get the girls attention. Now "Red" doesn't move out from under him. Must be his "manly" voice.. starting to sound like a young duck now!

And a young male I've raised from a hatchling.. now well over 6".. you can see why they are called "Cherryhead"..

And a female almost his size with great carapace marbling.. just added last Aug..

I'm not an expert on eggs and breeding, but some folks believe that this year's eggs are the result of last year's breeding. Was she with a male last year?

Of course Mark! And while we're at it.. save your time and fingers.. there ain't gonna be no sub-species for G. carbonaria in our lifetime!

BTW.. one of these "pipped" last night..
