Will an extra scute affect the turtle in any way?

I don't have him yet. Someone's offering to give me a midland painted with an extra scute

I would "think" that if it does not bother the turtle then it should be fine? Have you seen it? It is not like a mutant scute, right?

No, extra scutes don't bother a turtle or tortoise at all.

no it shouldnt but if it act out of the ordinary then call a local vet that know his/hers turtles
