I have a one year old Hermann’s Tortoise. He was given to me because my nephews girlfriend no longer had time for the Tort.
When I first got him he’d eat, he’d want to get out all the time. Now he/she isn’t eating, just one bite.
I noticed that he/she tried to bite the food but always misses. Looks like the Tort gets frustrated, gives up and goes in the hide to sleep. It’s so sad. I’m thinking it can’t see well. I don’t think it’s totally blind. Any thoughts?

Try piling the food into a hill and chop it up small. Keep piling it as he eats it and flattens it. Usually this has to be done for very small hatchlings but if hes getting frustrated and stops eating this may help.
