I have a 5 year old Sulcata that I adopted about 2 months ago. He weighs about 14 pounds and appears to be in very good health. I feed him from the recommended diet list all good healthy greens with occasional treats. My question is regarding the amount of food. He grazes in my yard on nasturtium, geraniums, grasses and weeds. I feed him mustard weed, hibiscus, mulberry, zucchini stems and fruit. I know they can be voracious eaters and I don't want to overfeed him, but where is the line? How do you know when they are getting enough to eat?

Thanks in advance!

Belinda

You know they have enough when they stop eating. In the “wild” they have access to Lots of Grass and other weeds.
I’m pretty sure your not overfeeding, your tortoises looks Very Healthy!

My rescued Eastern Hermann loves to graze. I feed him in the morning and I also feed him before I go to bed. He was emaciated with worms, when I got him. Now he is doing great and if he wants to eat I will feed him. I will adjust his food when I need to. For now eat whenever he wants...I think he is spoiled ?
