Feeding tortoise

Is there a time of the day I should feed my tortoise? Or does it not really matter?

Feed in the morning and make it enough that they can eat throughout the day.
In the wild torts eat early and later in the day, hiding away during the hottest parts of the day.

I get them up and place them in their soaking bowl while I prepare their food - first thing in the morning. After their soak I place them by the food.
