My ill tortoises is finally eating!!! My parents just found out that he does not like romaine lettuce he likes broccoli!!! He is a fifty pounder same as me, but he can carry me too! This note is written for people who don't make fun of people's own post! Thanks a lot for reading this post/thread, I really like what your doing!!!

Happy to hear you tortoise is eating, just be careful of how much broccoli he eats, he may stop eating that if he has it to much... And 50 pounds is a very nice size...

Sulcata? does he have grass to graze on? brocoli is not a good staple..
he needs grass-pasture like a cow, to graze on...

What species is it? Sulcata? Too much broccoli causes gout and makes your tortoise sick. A 50 pound Sulcata should be grazing on green and dried grasses, not broccoli. If you have a yard with green or dead grass that what he should be eating, so please stop feeding him broccoli. If you continue to feed broccoli he will be full and won't want to eat the stuff he should be eating, plus he's going to get gout and that will cause a big Vet bill...NO BROCCOLI !!!

So very glad to hear he is eating! Now you can expand his diet and direct him towards other and better variety of foods.
