I have a half dozen of these things...
And a bunch of these things...
...laying around that I use to reinforce the lamp clamp. Depending on how I have it mounted/hanging, I'll pin down the clamp with the spring clamp (top pic), so basically it's double-clamped, or I'll screw on the C-clamp (bottom pic) so that it pins part of the clamp and/or sits so that, if the clamp slips off whatever, it catches on the C-clamp instead of falling.
I LOVE those c-clamps and spring clamps. I use them for everything, it seems like. The possibilities are endless!
I also take full advantage of the wire lamp hanger things, on those lamps that have them. I have my dragon's lamp hanging on a shower curtain pole, suspended across the top of his enclosure. At one point, the curtain rod was wedged into place on two of those handy spring clamps, like so:
(Actually an extremely sturdy arrangement, that rod would not budge once wedged into place!)
But since his cage was upgraded, there's nowhere to stick the clamps... So now it rests across the top with nails on each side to stop it rolling back and forth. Still working on a way to secure it better, and in such a way that I can move it up and down if needed. (Still no luck on that second part, but this thread has given me a couple ideas for the first part!)
