Found tortoise in Carlsbad

My neighbor spotted a large male Sulcata in the road while working in Carlsbad. He tried knocking on doors to find his home, but had to take it with him because he feared he might get run over. I have him and want to get him get him home. Thanks

Call the vets and any animal rescues in the area he was found. Put signs up in the area too.
Do not say what kind of tortoise. This way you can have the owner state it. Too many will try to claim it even though it's not theirs

Wow, what a find. Glad you rescued and hope you find the owners. It could have a chip so get it scanned by a vet. They are tanks so if you find no owner ensure it gets the correct secure set up for onward care. There is plenty of advice and help in this forum for you to draw down on.

I was able to get in touch with him and the tort is going to a rescue locally. We may be helping this rescue out though with their "Special Needs" Sulcatas. This story has a good ending and that's all we can hope for. Thanks for posting, another Sulcata getting to enjoy life.
