I, personally, separate at any sign of biting, ( other than the Russians and their courtship-and then I watch closely). I've seen torts with missing eyes and I never would want to see it in one of my pens.

The 2 don't live together. I recognize bullying and am very careful how I keep my tortoises. They were put together for the sake of the story and those pictures show their first meeting.
