Hello everybody! New to the site, I live with a red-foot tortoise and have had him for about a year now. He's eating, gets soaked, and he seems well taken care of. But I am constantly worrying if that is the case. I just wanted to know any advice I could get to help make sure Bowser stays happy and healthy. I know my pictures may not be the BEST quality, I tried to get as good of angles as I could. I dont have photos of Bowser at this moment. He was in his log after a vet visit today. Anything shared would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much!

Welcome. Two things. Remove the ramped water dish and replace with clay saucer. Tortoise don't usually have to walk up a ramp to drink in the wild and those kinds of dishes are a flipping and drowning hazard
Second cover the area with the heat/lights with tin foil to close up the area around the domes. Leave just the socket where the cord attached exposed.
Do not use any mercury, halogen or coil type bulbs
Keep humidity at 80% with top layer of substrate dry.
Be sure to give him a larger enclosure when needed so things inside and legs keep working right
Otherwise the enclosure looks good.

Thanks for the fast response! For clarification, you're referring to tin foiling the open grated area by the heat lamp and closing it all up?

And a clay saucer like is used for plant pots and the like? Thanks again!
