Growth, pyramiding

is there a way to tell the difference between growth and pyramiding?

Smooth growth has each scute spreading outwards on a flat plane. Pyramided growth creates upward steps out of the growth lines forming a cone out of each scute. An early sign of pyramiding in a small tortoise is a deep notch forming between the scutes. If your tortoise is being raised in an open topped dry enclosure, pyramiding is likely.

Mine just turned 4 months on the 16 and we have our wild 2 year old

Oh yes. I remember those days… Take your time.

My daughter is 9. She gets her own "bottle" now.

They get soaked frequently, and we give them they're calcium and multi vitamins. Outside for sunshine as well plenty of time

You are good. I don't think you need to change anything.

See how each growth line is next to the one before it and they are spreading sideways on a flat plane, as opposed to stacking up higher and higher. Your tortoise is an example of what SHOULD be happening.
