Growth Question

Hello!

I'm not sure where this thread would go so I'll just post it here since my tortoise is a Leopard.

My tortoise has had some growth issues: as in it has barely grown, weighing a whopping 35g at 7 months old. (I've since been fixing the problems)

However, i see many times in other posts of grown tortoises with deformed shells and other health problems.

So it leaves me wondering, is there one aspect of their care that's mainly responsible for growth?

It just makes me wonder because some tortoises grow, but with pyramiding and etc., in the wrong conditions and then, take mine for example, don't grow at all in the wrong conditions?

Just a thought i had and hopefully someone can answer

Thanks!

P.S. i hope this isn't a dumb question haha

the diet used to be mainly spring mix, but is now collard greens, endive, mazuri, dandelion greens, cilantro, parsley, and some other leaves and plants from my yard.

I was just wondering if maybe diet is the most important for growth? or is it the enclosure? or are they equal?

When young ones do not grow, it is usually the result of a very dry start. I am not able to link it from here or on this device, but do a search for "hatchling failure syndrome". Look for the thread that I typed a few years ago .

thanks everyone! I was just wondering if one of the "trio" stood out above the rest but them being equal makes sense!
