I have a three toed box turtle that is pretty shy and I havent seen him eat lately though I did see him swimming in the pond a couple days ago.
I have a couple questions about him. First is his shell isnt round and smooth, its almost like reverse pyramiding where the center of the scutes are indented a bit. She has always been that way and I thought it maybe because she was young but even though she has grown a bit it hasnt smoothed over at all. Is this normal?
Next is I am going to dig her up and bath her then feed her in a seperate container away from the other 4 turtles. Is phoenix worms, earthworms, mealworms, superworms in one bowl and finele minced: kiwi, lettuce, collard greens, bell pepper, and carrots good enough? Both bowls will be dusted in miner-all.

I do not host these fantastic little turtles....however, if I were needing these questions answered....I would perhaps send TerryO a pm and see what she thinks....she has a lovely set up and she feeds some fun stuff to her beautiful turtles...:D

How old is your box turtle? They do tend to have not " round " shells when they are young even makes look more bean looking then round like females. Are the other turtles babies too? Or adults? The food list is fine, they love all kinds of bugs if your lucky babies will eat veggies. Just keep it different.

Thanks for the replies. Ummm at a guess I would say they are 7-10 months old. I got them in oct of 2012 and they were only a few months old.

2 of them. Meanie (3-toed) and jack (hybrid ornate/3-toed) are hatchlings. Then there is a full grown ornate wood turtle, puck, and a full grown ornate box turtle, beaker. Beaker is the only male all the others are females.

Lately the hatchlings have been more active and not buried all the times so I think they are thriving. They pretty much eat only the superworms but they have a large variety to choose from.

This is Meanie and it is her shell I find odd. http://i1165.photobucket.com/albums...-9805-0CC62911BF8A-12058-0000099574EC7F41.jpg http://i1165.photobucket.com/albums...-BEC4-CE967D7B36FA-12058-000009956C1ED981.jpg
She looking normal? I havent dealt with 3-toeds before. Its mostly been wood turtles and ornate boxies.
