Hello all!
After 6 months of the first nest being in the ground here in Southern Arizona, we have hatchlings! I decided to just let nature take it's course and see what happened. We have 12 inside now to protect them from birds and ants.
I know there are many more nests in the yard and before long, I could be completely overrun with babies. So, does anyone know or have experience in selling these precious babes?
I bought my two adults 8 yrs ago at a reptile show here for $30 each.
I couldn't bring myself to just destroy the eggs (as was suggested to do by a tortoise rescue), so that's why I decided to not really help them hatch, but to just let nature be and see what happened. Now, I'm determined to find good homes for them (as much as I can).
I know there is a reptile show here in October I believe, and so I will look into that. I just don't know if there are laws or licenses or things like that for this. I don't want to do anything wrong, but again, I didn't plan this. I know some people do this for a living, so any advice would be so helpful!
Thank you!

Hello!
They are sulcatas. Discovered in the yard 9/15. So precious, tiny little perfectly formed babies.

If I were you I would sell them for AT LEAST $50.00 each, but you might be able to get away with selling them for $75.00 each or what you could do is sell 2 for $130.00! :) that's my opinion on there sell value.

I would not necessarily sell them for $50 each. You want to find loving and good homes for them. I bought mine from arizona sulcata at AZSulcata and he sold them to me for $45 each (for three) and when I look on craigslist in phoenix there are some going for $30. Most are between $40 -$50 but there were some for $30. I would put an add on craigslist and see what happens, you can also put some for sale in the for sale section on this forum. I know there are web sites that sell them for $$$ and the pet stores want a lot also, but if you are not in this for the money then I would sell for less. You could also look into separating your female from your male if you don't know what to do with the babies. I applaud you for not destroying the eggs because I think it is horrible when people do that. You can talk to some of the breeders on this site and see what they would suggest. I know of Tom and arizona sulcata but there are quite a few more. Just pm them and go from there. I hope this helps.:)

yes it is great that you did not destroy them, it is really sick in my eyes when people do that  hope you find them great homes! Best Of Luck! :D (and maybe you could make money off of them if you sell them for $75.00 because you can use that money for stuff for your older Sulcata's!)
