One of my neighbors brought a new Greek to us. He was living in the garden of an apartment downtown. He is a grown male and is infested with ticks. Insides of all 4 legs are covered with them. I can count more than 30, manually removing them from this animal seems impossible. What can I do? I could not find a vet for torts before and our vet for the cats doesn't know if dog washes are toxic for amphibians?
Will post pictures later today.
I am worried about an infestation in our garden, so the poor thing is in a refrigerator cardboard box :(

Poor thing! I don't know how to help you but I'm sure someone soon will help you out. So glad he landed in your hands and will be able to be cared for soon.

I've never had a tick problem, so I've never had to research it. But here in the States, you can buy a product at the pet store to get rid of ticks on snakes and lizards. I don't know why that wouldn't also work on tortoises. Search for it on Google and see if you come up with anything - tick medication for reptiles.
