few years ago I got a couple of gopherus berlandieri, since 2009 they are reproduced, in my installations.
I am very happy with this species so curious, and I would like to share some photos of small born here.
I want to highlight the good acclimatization to the Mediterranean climate, although it has no clutch thrived in natural conditions I have succeeded in artificial incubation.

Hello and welcome. I've never seen or heard of Gopherus species outside of the states where they occur here. Interesting. Your animals look great.

Okay, I am looking at these babies yet again because they are like little caramels, soooo sweet and irresistible, and I realized I have never ever seen wee Texas type gopherus hatchlings in the USA, and by the magic that is TFO, I get to see them here, online... and they were born in ... not Texas .... but they are little Euro born, Spanish citizens, by golly! It's a small world after all. So do love the face on that last picture. Thanks again for sharing your little babies with us! : )

Thanks for the feedback.
There are very few specimens of gopherus in Europe, I guess we all come from Mexico.

Do you think the coloration of these specimens normal?, As varied as a surprise for my

Wow, a foreign exchange program. America gets Mediterranean tortoises, and the Mediterranean gets American tortoises. :)

Beautiful Texas tortoises you have there!

I can not get hermanni tortoises, but I can buy gopherus.
in my country, hermanni is native and get special protection in Catalonia.

Exactly. And it's the other way around here: it's hard to own a Gopherus tortoise, but it's okay to ship Testudo tortoises here from the other side of the world.

Obviously, conserving these animals is very important. I just wish there were a population of them breeding in captivity that could be kept closer to home.
