We really like this site, so we decided to register today =]
Chomps (or Tort-man/Tortal) came into our family rather unexpectedly one day when we were visiting our favorite reptile store. Someone had dropped him off because they couldn't afford to take him to a vet after their dog had chewed him up. The reptile store wasn't really sure what to do with him and said they probably weren't going to take him in either. So we did. Luckily, even though he's suffered from some pretty decent chomps (hence the name) and lost small pieces of his shell, the vet said that he should be fine and that his shell should fill the gaps in later. Though he wasn't in danger of getting an infection, we were sure to keep an eye on him after our visit.
It's been 6 months since and he's doing well, plus, I think he might even like us back =]
