New to this site and excited to bring home Journey. He’s a male Russian tortoise that is always on the go… climbing, flipping his food bowl over loads of fun watching him. But as for being new to this site. I’m new at raising Journey the best I can. 🐢💕

Hello and welcome.

Journey is a wild caught adult. You aren't raising him, you are just caring for him.

Be very careful with the dog. Never let the dog have access to the tortoise. They don't need to be introduced. You need to always teach the dog to "leave it" and stay away from the tortoise enclosures.

Here is some helpful care info for you:

Questions are welcome.

Hello and welcome! Those links Tom has posted are super helpful!

Perhaps you’ll find this one I made useful too if you have an indoor set up🙂

Congrats on your new shell buddy
Do not let him roam the floors of your home, he needs his own proper enclosure 4x8 indoors and hopefully larger outside and oh keep the dog away always. There is no tortoise safe dog.
