The photos don't have good quality because it's night here, but tomorrow I'll post new ones!

Those look like water turtles, but I can't ID the species. Most likely some type of slider.

I already found out what they are, and they're illegal here in Portugal. I was conned.

I'm so sad, I just feel like crying, I was so excited, and the man only took advantaged of me :'(

He had an add in a classified website with photos, but the tortoise in them weren't the same as the ones he send me. Because they're illegal I'll talk some since to him to at least send me my money back, if he doesn't, I'll call the police...

I wanted them so much, and I put so much work and effort into this :'(

If you don't mind me asking, what type of tortoise were you looking for?

Are you guys sure they are not box turtles? They look too domed to be sliders to me.

They are Spanish pond turtles, Mauremys leprosa, which are native to Portugal.

Oh, Sophia...darn it! I'm so sorry. You made that nice balcony enclosure for your new tortoises and ended up with animals that can't live there.

Since they are native to your area, I would take the animals and the packaging to the police or your law enforcement who handles native animals. You didn't do anything wrong and maybe they can catch the guy who took your money.

In the mean time, put them in some water. I'm sure they're pretty dry.

Danny beat me to it... and the CEDA (Centro de Ética e Direito dos Animais) site is not available.

I guess pond turtles are better than red-ears (like my guess in the other thread). At least they are not invasive.

If after speaking with the vendor, he does not want to return your money, you may want to contact CEDA.

I already put them in a pond, but during the night one escaped my balcony :'( I don't know how he did it, I guess it's just my luck acting on me...

I'm going to contact ICN, they are the ones responsible to re-introduce the species to their original habitat...

I found the one that escaped, but she's injured :s her upper shell is cracked, and I don't know what to do! The exotic vet is only open tomorrow, so I wanted to know what to do in the mean time.
I already took her out of the pond and put her in a plastic box with only a little bit of water so it can reach the crack :'x
