Does anyone know what is the best subtrate for my sulcata he is on wooden chips from a pet shop but read they are bad for their legs if anyone can help will be reeli grateful
I think a lot of it comes down to your preferences. But so far I'm liking Half Eco Earth (Coconut Coir) and half Organic Top soil. Peanut really likes it and has begun digging around in it, also lettuce seeds sprouted in it.
It is a bit messy, but I keep a spray bottle and a small paint brush to dust things off and the spray bottle helps keep the surface damp. I live in Houston, it's very humid even in the winter so this mix doesn't dry out fast like it might elsewhere.
I've been using coco coir as well, but I have it mixed with cypress mulch. ***Word of advice--Unless you want your Sully to turn burgundy, rinse the coco coir before you use it***
