in all the threads i've read, i haven't seen anything about having a vacuum with a HEPA filter. i keep my tortoise inside for now, and was told by ther person i got him from that i needed to get a HEPA vacuum. i went out and bought one last year and it's been fine. i was just wondering what everyones thoughts were on this?

HEPA vacuums filter out the very tiny particles that regular vacuums can't when you use a regular vacuum these particles get into the air, therfor your tort will breathe it in. i've done a lot of reading about them, and most of the articles agree that they are a must for any kind of pet owner. i bought it to be on the safe side. i was just curious if anyone else heard of this.

I know they state that a HEPA vacuum is good for pet owners and people with astma or allergies. But have never been told you have to have one because you own a tort. Remember torts are near the ground so they naturally breath stuff when the wind blows, that's my thinking so if you choose to use a HEPA vacuum or air purifyer it would be for everyones health not just the tort.
