When i built my outdoor enclosure i put in 3 hides in one end, the end with the best viewing ;).
Both male and female Russians kept digging in at the east end of the enclosure. From the hammock i couldn't see them. I have come to the conclusion that its warmer there in the evening, so i added some hides (3) for them and they use them every night. There are are three of them and there and there is no guarantee that the male or female will be in in the same place night to night.

for 2 of them i used black buckets that are buried. I was concerned that they may try to dig out/under. Even if they dig, its into the bucket. In my CDT pen i will plant a 30 gallon trash can with just the lip showing. that way ill know they cant dig out of the pen with out me knowing.

Great hides. I like the idea of burying whole cans to insure that they can only go so far.

As time has gone by, I too have learned to let the torts TELL ME where to put their furniture. It just all works better that way.

They've got that relaxed, "I just got home from work, I want my bed because I'm BEAT" look on them.

They look cozzy and comfy...Great hides and it seems that they approve of your hard work and efforts. Thanks for the pictures.
