I have a Russian tortoise and I just checked that under her head lamp is 106. It’s that too hot? I can easily move it up but just wanted to be sure. I’ve read it should be 90-100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Thanks!

106 isn't bad. Long as it can retreat to a cooler area.

How are you measuring? Is that 106 on the ground, or 106 at tortoise shell height?

This is the caresheet that will help you with temps and everything else:

I use a rock or upturned china bowl the same height as my tort under the lamps and adjust them accordingly.
