On Sunday we added a redfoot tortoise baby to our family. The tortoise was purchased at a reptile shop in Miami. Although it was sold as a cherryhead, this baby is most certainly orange. We don't mind, though. :)

I didn't think to ask the age when we purchased it. Once getting it home, I noticed it still has its egg tooth, and seems to have evidence of its yolk sac on its belly so I am thinking it must be very young! I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me how old it is.

Here are some pictures I took this morning while we had her out for a warm soak.

I would think less than 2 months old but most breeders don’t sell that young so I may be wrong.

I know sulcata hatchlings lose their egg tooth at around 6 weeks. I think it's about the same for your redfoot.
I would bet your baby is about 4-5 weeks old.

Welcome, fellow Redfoot keeper.
I'd also say under 2 months old.
I just found a baby Redfoot in my pen ( 2nd one) and it's about that size.
Also, from the tiny photos on my phone, I'd say it probably IS a cherry head. Not all Cherry heads are bright red.
