Im going to grow elephant grass for my tortoises to eat but I dont know how..

1. Do i have to use organic soil?
2. Do they require high maintenance?
3. Do I have to keep growing it or does it keep growing?
4. Can Leopard Tortoise Hatch lings eat it?
5. What is its nutritional value?
6. Is it good or bad for Leopard Tortoises?

I grow some elephant grass here in Florida.

Don't know allot about it. Except all torts , I believe , can eat it. It grows many places in Africa, so would be available to Leopards & Sulcata.

I do know it grows best in wet areas. Around the runoff lakes of Kilimanjaro it grows rampant. Here in Florida it grows along runoff ponds & canals.

Easy to grow in Florida. Turns somewhat brown in winter. My torts will eat it , but aren't crazy about it.

Mine only take a few bites out of it & move on to their favorites. I feed as much variety as I can

So I don't know.
