How would one actually heat a humid hide for a baby? I so far have just put it near and within the beam of my baby leopard tortoise's heat source (MVB by day and CHE by night). And it seems to be working. But wanting to devote more room to basking, probably moving the hide to the other side of the enclosure, how should I heat it? Maybe get my clamp lamp, and move the CHE over on top? Any suggestions? Also, would it be good to bring the baby tortoise into a separated area in the shower for a nice, humid spa time?

Half and half. I usually cover the half not with the lights over it with tinfoil. But, as I said, usually. It's not really permanent, but I try to do it as much as I can.

I don't specifically heat my humid hides. I measure my ambient temps. Something you may have trouble with accurately measuring in an open enclosure. My ambient temps are never lower than 78 all over the enclosure.

Room temps are around low 70's to mid. Would the best answer to my problem just to convert the enclosure to a full on closed?

Yes it would. I like to set up my CHE on a thermostat at ~78-80F. And set my basking light on a timer for 12-14 hours. Basking temps are at around 100F. Also I strategically place my water dish under my CHE. Humidity is between 75-90%

Its so important to keep temps up when keeping humidity high so a closed chamber is the safest way. I have babies in a closed chamber. Works great.

what Are you using to measure humidity? The Round button type that stick to the side of glass tanks are notoriously inaccurate for humidity measurements. I only ask because 90% humidity is hard to achieve on open top Setups and you really need the digital ones. They're only about $15. I hope someone has mentioned That the coil bulb lights are not good? They can blind the tortoise.

I use cocopeat as a substrate and spraying water on it then achieve 90 % up humidity. Fyi i using digital hygrometer to measure humidity

Do you have more than one? Its nice to make sure one is working by comparing it to another. 93% is almost raining yet your wood looks completely dry.
