Just a quick question, what should the humidity levels be in the enclosure for a hermanns.....oh and another:should I buy one of those humidity measurers?
Ahh OK, I will try and find a better humidity readerI can't answer what humidity should be for your species but regardless you should have a humidity reader. I wouldn't buy the disk type seen often in pet stores. They're not accurate, I learned that the hard way.![]()
I'd use a temperature gun (for temperature, lol) & a digital hygrometer (for humidity).
I will have to find one of those on a UK shop
Hermann's should have 30-50%![]()
On a different forum for tortoisesDon't know where you read that, but I'd go higher for a growing baby. Just make sure temps don't drop too much.
On a different forum for tortoisesin the hermann's section.
What level would you recommend then? Please don't perpetuate the same misinformation that has been bad for tortoises for years. You know other sites still say sulcatas are desert animals and need it dry too. Its just wrong. Have you raised many hermanni with 30% humidity and seen the results? I have. Its not pretty.
Please only give advice to other people on things that you know for sure and have first hand experience with. Just because you read it somewhere does not make it accurate or helpful.
I think %75 would be good... I've never had oneWhat level would you recommend then?
