Found this little dude beat up pretty badly. I got some food in a dry tank for him & some shallow water. I cleaned his wound with some solution. What’s my chances I can rehab? Any tips/help?

If it's a box turtle you kinda need a different set up, how bad are his wounds? Open bleeding?

That’s okay! He/she is very active still. I just haven’t figured out what to feed them to make them eat. I’ve gave boiled carrots, banana, strawberries & cut up worms. I mean they might take a day or so for the shock to wear off.

It is a young Box Turtle. Probably only a year ot two old. Looks like it got into a situation with a dog, a raccoon, a skunk, or some other carnivorous type animal. I don't think it would have survived being hit by a lawn mower, but that might also be a possibility.

The shell can heal but it won't grow back to its original size and shape. Also healing in turtles/tortoises takes a very long time. Meanwhile, I would just keep the wounds clean and put some Neosporin ointment on them once or twice a day.

The foods you mentioned should be OK, but as you said, it may take a few days for the chock to wear off. Usually young Box Turtles like wiggly worms and attack them with a passion. It might also go for small bugs and crickets.

Aw, poor litttle guy! He's gonna' need some antibiotics. Doesn't look like there are any openings into the body cavity which is good. Keep him indoors and away from flies. Wash the injured parts with chlorhexidrine, you. can buy it at the pharmacy. Keep it clean and free of f!ies and it will harden and heal, but the shell won't grow back. When you go to the vet for antibiotics, ask them to clip off that piece of shell that's hanging loose. It will bleed, that's why I suggest the vet do it.
