Hi I got a tortoise a few months ago and not sure what the species is I bought him and the papers said hermans
and some people online tell me its hermans but a ton of people online are also telling me he is a russian I dont know

It is a Russian. Did you get it from a pet store? They usually don't have a clue about anything animal.

It is definitely a Testudo horsfeildii.

Care and feeding is basically the same for both species.

A cute tort, though I'm unable to tell you what species he is: am no tort expert.

Please give him daily soaks in warm water so as to avoid pyramiding and dehydration, and make sure he's warm enough and that there's enough humidity. Ask ANY question when in doubt.
