So just wondering what the top tortoise is, it's very like a young redfoot, dark colouration but as you'll see it's head and limbs are both yellow. I know some reds can be yellow when young so just wondering what ye guys think, They were sold as two yellows. Cheers.

I reckon it's one of those yellow reds Mick. Any chance of a plastron shot?
Are these to go with your other yellow foot?

No mate not mine, asking for someone I know. Never seen it in person so hard to tell but it is quite dark for a pure yellow right, although it's head and limbs say otherwise. I'll ask for a plastron shot.

The legs are making me think more yellow foot now actually. Many more coloured scales than what you see in young red foots-not sure whether that really makes sense but oh well.
The 2nd I one below I would say is 85% likely to be a yellow foot from that picture, so if the animals are from, say a petshop, the animals will be from the same source so should technically be the same species-nice theory, doesn't always work in practice.

looks yellow to me, prob just a very dark one.

yeah true and thanks mate, ah sure time will tell as most reds form some sort of orange or red as they mature.

They are reds. Yellows have a different scale pattern on their noses. :)

Technically yes, but the noses are very inconsistent, very often wrong. That said, the plastron does look more yellow foot IMO

I would say 100% sure reds. Look at these two very little red on the head . One of them has almost no red .

after examining my little yellowfoot the split scale is pretty obvious and the head in the above pic does look like typical scale formation of a red. history is sketchy too so most likely reds as yellows not too common here in Ireland, either that or crosses.
Cheers.

Whitney knows.. the nose - easiest way to tell the difference -

Yellowfoot..

A "Colombian" from awhile back..

Those "light-yellow" are almost always from Colombia!
