Hey everyone. Im looking for a little advice on where to purchase my next hatchling from. I purchased my little telly last year from a breeder three hours away from me and im hoping he is no long in biz. He called himself a rescue facility while breeding on the side but in realty he was just breeding the turtles that were surrender to him. The turtles did not look as if they were properly cared for. so I would like some advice as to which places actually care. TIA

YOUR STORY IS NOT UNCOMMON.
I've seen the same thing.

I cant believe that people could do that. All I could was say my piece to the man. Turns out he sells the hatchings online as well. I'm just hoping to not run onto that again.

Jessica @ mynewturtle.com would be a good one. She has a nice collection of 3 toeds and I know she had a few juveniles and hatchlings for sale awhile ago. Usually around $60 + shipping.

From my understanding, she too is a rescue and breeder. Can't say though if she breeds her rescues or not. That's where I got my first leopard from. Wouldn't again. Nice leopard, not so go care info

I've heard good things about Jessica when it comes to box turtles.

I'm sorry everyone my last post was posted in a hurry and came out so wrong. I meant but with it being said about poor care info I wonder if I should order there? It makes you wonder. Poor care info/ poor care. I would rather see a breeder stick to one breed of turtle where the care is the same across the board. The more breeds the more different forms of care you have to provide. The more chance there are to get the care mixed up leading to poor care.

I feel the best place to get your torts or turtles is from someone on this forum. There are many expserienced breeders and they have the most current info. This forum is great. Just ask around and someone will point you in the right direction.

Thank you. I think this forum is the best one out there. I have joined others but this one has me coming back everyday. I like everything about it.
