Me me me I have! I bought that mag BECAUSE of the article on Stars, and didn't realize til I read it that it was YOU! LOL! My son was like, "Dude, we know Turtle Terry! It's like we know a celebrity!" ROFL!

I want to get a Star but they are too costly, I THINK...

Kelly, To be truthful I like the higher prices because I think it keeps casual buyers away. Serious keepers always find a way to aquire their dreams. As I've said, these guys aren't easy. ;)

Ok, now I gota go get the mag. I agree with you Itort. Perhaps someday in a prefect world all torts will have great homes and the WC ones will stay Wild instead of caught.

but as i notice from most star tortoise owners, they are very slow in growth. even within a year the size will still remain the same. am i right? or probably the star owners i know are not taking care of the stars properly?

That's probably because they are males?.. not sure. You read the article and webpage.. mine grew to about 10cm the first 4 years ( from hatchlings ) and the males maybe 2 - 2.5cm the next 2 1/2 years.. whereas the female has grown 8 - 9cm during that time. She's now in the 18cm range.
