Hi! My son got a Russian tortoise 2 days ago from a breeder. I have a question about her shell. It seems like it is a little flakey. I know they shed, but this doesn’t look like that to me. Any advice will help.
Is her shell ok?

She looks like she could use a soak. An adult from a breeder? That's unusual.
Overall, I think she looks good. Are you certain she's a she? If you get a picture taken from below, showing the tail area, we can verify that for you.
